INLOCC is divided into three functional areas.
General Administration is the leadership core of the unit. In this area we provide oversight for all operations. We serve as the “front desk” face for the unit, answering a plethora of questions by email, telephone, in meetings and for walk–in traffic.
This group provides the backoffice support for the unit, including information technology, research, finance administration and web support.
This group also supports a loss control effort (Motor Vehicle Record checks) and processes certificates of insurance. We also manage the university’s captive insurance company, OCIC.
The claims unit is responsible for handling all the property and casualty insurance claims of the university, whether paid from the self–insurance fund, OCIC or commercial insurance. If commercial insurance is involved we are the interface between their adjusters and the university community. In addition they manage the athletic medical claims for our NCAA and NAIA teams.
Loss Control has many functions (see their page for more information) but their mission is to mitigate the risks of property and liability loss the university faces.
