Deductibles and Contributions
Effective July 1, 2000 the following deductibles and contributions are in effect:
Computer except laptops (and related equipment) losses due to theft, vandalism, mysterious disappearance and related perils | $1,000 per incident |
Laptop computer (and related equipment) losses due to theft, vandalism, mysterious disappearance and related perils | $1,000 per computer |
Employee bond | $1,000 |
Crime (e.g., burglary, theft) | $1,000 |
Repeated losses | 10% - 50% of the loss subject to a $500 minimum, $10,000 maximum |
Unreasonable losses | 10% of the loss Subject to a $500 minimum, $10,000 maximum |
Unreasonable risk | When the university has a choice of venues and elects to use a venue that has a contract that puts the University at unreasonable risk (e.g., a venue that holds us responsibble for the acts of our guests and contractors, or a venue that holds us responsible even if they are at fault), the unit electing to use that venue will be responsible for 10% of any loss and expenses incurred. |
Auto comprehensive (glass breakage, etc.) | $50 |
Collision damage (excluding busses) | $100 (higher deductibles for repeated chargeable accidents - see Accidents & Cost Allocation) |
Collision loss - busses | $1,000 |
Unreported collision losses More than 10 days has elapsed since the damge occurred, or it is not known when it occurred | 150% of the normal deductible |
D&O / School Board Liability losses E.g., EEOC claims | 20% of the claim, including expenses subject to a $1,000 minimum, $100,000 maximum wages are not covered. |
Property losses not described above are covered with a $1,000 threshold. I.e., losses under $1,001 are the responsibility of the department; covered losses over $1,000 are covered without deductible. |
Note: All amounts shown are deductibles except for the description of a threshold in the last entry.
